Dear Parents,

I would like to welcome you to the 2020-21 school year. My name is Dr. Pauline Garcia. There have been some changes that I would like to update you on for the upcoming school year.  I am extremely humbled to serve as the new Principal of the Perris Lake Continuation High School (PLHS). I am currently the Principal of the ScholarPlus Online Learning Academy (SOLA) and the Perris Community Adult School (PCAS). I will oversee all three schools located at the Perris Lake High School Campus.

I have worked in the Perris Union High School District for 21 years. I served as a high school counselor for Perris High School and Perris Lake High School. I served as a district coordinator for the Student Assistance Program. I served as an Assistant Principal for Perris High School, Paloma Valley High School and Perris Lake High School. In addition, I served as the Principal for The Academy Community Day School. I am excited to meet you and honored to work with all of you during the upcoming school year.

In addition, I would like to introduce our new Assistant Principal, Mr. Lee Alfred. Mr. Alfred has worked in the Perris Union High School District for 8 years. He served as a high school counselor at Perris High School. He also served as an Assistant Principal for Paloma Valley High School. He too, is a former continuation high school student who persevered. Just like him, your students too will persevere. We are excited to have him join our team!

As you all know, PLHS is an alternative educational opportunity to assist students behind in credits. Our mission is to create high quality relevant learning opportunities for all in a safe and caring environment. We will develop a high quality, caring staff who will be dedicated to learning, and connect students to their education and potential goals. We will care for all students while developing a growth mindset through collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking.

I know that the last semester was very challenging for everyone. We want you all to know that your students have been missed. I have an amazing staff who only want the best for your students. We are working diligently to develop a program that will help your students succeed in the upcoming school year. We are a learning organization in pursuit of fostering student social, emotional and academic development (SEAD) with a college, career and cultural awareness focus.

We hope you continue to stay connected with us. PLHS parents, please follow us on Twitter @PerrisLakeHigh and like us on Facebook.com/Perris Lake High School.  SOLA parents, please follow us on Twitter @ScholarPlusOLA and like us on Facebook.com/ScholarPlusOLA. Your support of our school is greatly appreciated.  Please review our website for opportunities for parent participation.

With warm regards,

Pauline S. Garcia
